Starting from seed up, a No Nasties garment is a labor of love - love for the planet, love for fellow beings, love for good design. All No Nasties products are made from 100% organic cotton in a fair trade factory following vegan principles. Cotton farmers in India are committing suicide at an alarming rate of one every 30 minutes. There have officially been over 300,000 farmers' suicides in the last 20 years, making it the largest number of suicides recorded in human history. Farmers have to bear the high costs of modern farming using genetically modified seeds and synthetic farm inputs, while their yields and returns are unreliable causing them to be caught in a vicious cycle of debt where they feel their only escape is to take their own life. No Nasties looked at the current initiatives in India to address this issue and were glad to discover a solution in organic and fair trade farming practices. No Nasties is very proud to be the first clothing brand to be fair-trade licensed in India.
