Variously, founded by Anjali Purohit and based in the Greater Detroit area, is a sustainable design studio committed to preserving handcrafted textile traditions through ethical, small-batch production. Since 2016, the brand has partnered with 12–15 artisan families—many of whom are 3rd or 4th generation weavers, dyers, and printers—with 80% of its collaborators being women. Rooted in heritage and minimalism, Variously avoids fast fashion trends, focusing instead on timeless, collaborative design. They use only the finest certified natural yarns, sourced responsibly from India, Australia, and Belgium, and dye them with non-toxic, water-conserving dyes. Every piece supports the revival of ancient techniques while aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Variously's slow-made textiles are not only beautiful but deeply connected to culture, community, and sustainability.
