Peace House Studio
About the brand
Peace House Studio is a family-founded brand based in Bath, Maine, launched in 2020 by a husband-and-wife team, along with their three daughters, two cats, and a dog. Kate, a Maine native with a lifelong passion for sewing, and Nick, raised in rural Wisconsin with a deep appreciation for the outdoors, created the brand out of a desire for children's clothing that aligned with their values of style, quality, ethics, and sustainability. They struggled to find clothing that met these standards when their first daughter was born in 2014, so they began making their own—laying the foundation for what would become Peace House Studio. Today, the brand produces durable, soft garments in their Maine studio using organic cotton fabric that is milled and dyed in California. Committed to reducing fashion waste, Peace House Studio launched the Patches Project, an initiative that repairs and repurposes worn or damaged pieces to extend their life. With a strong belief that clothing should not only look good but also do good, the brand continues to explore innovative ways to lessen its environmental impact.
